“All people know the same truth. Our lives consist of how we choose to distort it.”
If you think about this quote, it really is significant. If we are given the same message, in the same way, from the same person, in the same room, same date and time, each of us will come up with our own version of what we think this means, how we react, how we chose to deal with it in our minds, how to deal with it physically if need be. How do we then view this particular person or situation. Do we place blame? Do we get angry? Do we laugh, do we question there motives? Do we believe them? Do we look at those in the room around us in a new light?
Based on our upbringing no matter our race, culture, age, gender or preference of any kind, each of us have grown up or been raised in an individual and unique manner, this affects the outcome of how we view things in life and the decisions we make. No matter what the actual circumstance or situation is, or if it is the same for all of us, we will still react a certain way based on that.
Some don’t understand how people can have such differing opinions, however that is why, it’s how we were all brought up. Were you brought up with someone in your family who was racist, who had an issue with the Gay/Lesbian/Transgender crowd, who doesn’t like Chocolate, who hates coffee (what? you don’t like Starbucks! Blasphemy!) someone who is Atheist or Christian.
You get where I’m going with this. We are all the same, our outsides may look different however our insides are all the same. It’s how we choose to take our upbringing and either choose to fight what is happening in your daily lives or embrace and try to make a change that your children or your pets would be happy to live with. War or Peace? or somewhere in between.
How do you choose to distort it? Just a thought.
